TURNING TRASH
INTO TREASURE

Textile waste does not have to remain textile waste, but can again become something that is really beautiful. And if that happens in a way that improves lives, everything is as it should be. manaomea's vision in a nutshell: making beautiful things out of textile waste, creating socially fair jobs and working with great people.

  • C. Rogerson, Dandora Dumpsite, Nairobi

Our production facilities are smart, small and inexpensive. We take them to where they belong: to the mountains of textile waste here and in the global South. There, people can use them to turn waste into a sustainable material and strengthen their community.

DOING GOOOOOOOOOOOD

15 FAMILIES
50 T TEXTILE WASTE
1,120 T CO₂

per production site/year in the global South

We are well on the way to becoming a global material brand, but in the end it's the people who make us who we are. Strong encounters, good vibes and the knowledge that we all can only succeed together - that's manaomea.

BREAKING THE LIMITS OF
TEXTILE RECYCLING

What can manaomea do that others can't? Simple answer: we can recycle mixed materials. Because that's what most textiles are, mishmash. And as things are today and in the foreseeable future, those mixed materials cannot be recycled in any other way. That's 100 million tons of textile waste per year, 85% of which is incinerated, emitting 2 billion tons of CO₂ – Germany's emissions times two.

This makes manaomea® material the one solution for a huge problem. Because absolutely any type of textile waste can be recycled into manaomea® material. This in turn can be recycled indefinitely in its own cycle. Also it looks fantastic, feels great and every centimeter is unique.
