Imagine you could have a chair that only exists once in the world. 

It is heavy, elegant and absolutely unique. It looks and feels like it's made of fine wood, but it's bars have a pattern you've never seen before. When you sit on it, you're happy. Especially when gently rocking and thinking about life. 

And now imagine that no trees were cut down to make this magnificent, beautiful chair and not one person has been exploited in the production process. On the contrary, it is made of waste and was built by happy people – us! 

We call this chair Charles and it does really exist. You can get it from us or make it from your own textile waste. Charles  does not only sound royal, but is also the crowning glory for your lobby, showroom or any other room that needs that little something-something. 

LUXURY THAT FEELS GREAT ON EVERY LEVEL

In the past, luxury often meant no good: scarce raw materials and dubious production, the luxury lay in the rarity and was sometimes barely legal.  

Today, luxury means something completely different: high quality and moral integrity. And that is the only luxury there can be for us and our Charles.  

Charles and his sidekick, the stool, are made of manaomea® material with bio-resin from >95% renewable raw materials and flat steel from Italy and France, individually bent, welded and powder-coated in black by hand. 

By the way: The stool with its narrow struts also works as a side table.

Products from the Shadow & Light collection use hand-picked and hand-processed textile remnants that follow a specific aesthetic. For example, they come from a women's project in the highlands of Guatemala, are remnants of fair sneakers from Pakistan or from Munich fashion labels, selvedges of virgin wool from the Alps or organic cotton from the Swabian Alb, they are recycled yarns from Italy, organic jute fibers from Bangladesh or remnants of old wedding dresses.
